Position Description

NAEYC seeks an experienced professional to serve as the Database and AMS Administrator, reporting to the Senior Director, Information Technology. The Database and AMS Administrator will serve as a subject matter expert for our association management system Abila netFORUM Enterprise. This position offers troubleshooting support to system users and collaborates with vendors to improve user experience and functionality.

The Database and AMS Administrator will work with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and deliver AMS solutions. This person will use Microsoft SQL to develop a variety of queries and reports that provide relevant and reliable data for successful operation of the association.

Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with vendor(s) to implement new Association Management System (AMS) platform functionality and work with vendor to perform system upgrades
  • Provide technical expertise in architecting and developing the AMS and related product suite
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and deliver AMS solutions
  • Develop and support integration solutions of AMS with business support systems
  • Develop SQL queries and build reports
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues (software bugs, data issues, and system configuration issues) for the AMS and related software
  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the customer relationship database, including development of minor customizations through system's development functionality
  • Function as primary contact to consult with business units to understand their business needs, gather requirements, and identify solutions
  • Will lead and participate in the development and implementation of selected solutions
  • Oversees the end-to-end report development including interaction with staff to gather requirements, understand report objectives, design and develop reports as well as deliver and train end users
  • Test customizations, integrations along with AMS service pack and hot fix releases
  • Ensure all aspects of AMS integrations are coordinated, tested and functioning properly
  • Coordinate efforts with website and association management system vendors when implementing functionality that requires web services
  • Oversight of association management system security. This includes adding and removing users, administering quotas, auditing, and checking for security problems
  • Maintain up-to-date end-user documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Develop and lead end-user training to support new and updated application functionality
  • Keep abreast of developments in internet technology, design features, and capabilities for the association management system that keeps current with .NET technology
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must have 3+ years' experience with netFORUM Enterprise, netFORUM Toolkit, and Microsoft SQL
  • Experience should also include programming fundamentals and development of process and strategies (i.e. software development models, agile, unit testing, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of development/hosting architectures and application security
  • Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
